Superintendent

The superintendent owns the field. You’ll run a safe job, hold subs to the scope they signed, keep the schedule real, and demand the quality we sold — from mobilization through punch list. You report to the Field Operations Manager and work daily with the project manager, the subs, the owner, and the inspectors.

What you’ll do

• Run daily construction activity from mobilization through completion, and know the drawings, specifications, and contract cold.
• Enforce safety to OSHA and DempseyGill standards: jobsite inspections, toolbox talks, a completed JHA for everyone who works on the site, and unsafe conditions corrected the moment you see them.
• Coordinate every subcontractor for safety, scope, schedule, and quality, and settle the conflicts between trades.
• Run the short-term schedule under the PM’s project schedule, track work completed against balance to complete every week, and publish the three-week look ahead.
• Verify completed work against the contract documents, approved submittals, and specifications before the next phase goes on top of it.
• Keep permits current and on site, coordinate inspections with the authority having jurisdiction, and confirm utility locates before anyone digs.
• Order, receive, and stage materials and equipment for self-performed work; verify deliveries and get the tickets to the PM.
• Document the job daily — daily and weekly reports, photographs, weather delays, inspections, deliveries.
• Drive completion lists and punch list to done, and hand back a site that’s clean and ready for occupancy.
• Get every change to the work and every schedule risk to the project manager before it’s built.

What you bring

• Two or more years of commercial construction field experience. High school diploma or GED required.
• Fluency reading structural, MEP, and architectural drawings and specifications.
• Working knowledge of Autodesk Build, Bluebeam Revu, and the mobile tools that keep field documentation current.
• Preferred: an associate’s degree in Construction Management, OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR, and design-build experience.
